QUEMADURA TÉRMICA DE SEGUNDO GRADO TRATADA CON ACEITE OZONIZADO: REPORTE DE CASO

Las quemaduras térmicas son lesiones frecuentes en la práctica clínica y pueden evolucionar con dolor intenso, infección secundaria y retraso en el proceso de cicatrización. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo describir la evolución clínica de una quemadura térmica de segundo grado durante seguimiento domiciliario con uso tópico de aceite ozonizado. Se trata de un reporte de caso observacional desarrollado en el segundo semestre de 2023, vinculado a un proyecto aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación de la Universidad del Estado de Pará. El paciente, sexo masculino, 41 años, sufrió una quemadura térmica tras un accidente laboral con líquido hirviendo, afectando hemitórax anterolateral, brazo derecho y región cervical. Después de la atención inicial en una unidad de urgencias, recibió prescripción de sulfadiazina de plata al 2%; sin embargo, durante el seguimiento domiciliario optó por el uso tópico exclusivo de aceite ozonizado. El manejo incluyó higiene local y aplicación tópica del producto tres veces al día, con seguimiento clínico y registros fotográficos seriados durante diez días consecutivos. Se observó reducción progresiva de la hiperemia, reepitelización de la superficie afectada y ausencia de signos clínicos aparentes de infección secundaria durante el período observado. Considerando las limitaciones inherentes al diseño observacional de caso único, los hallazgos no permiten establecer relación causal definitiva entre el uso del aceite ozonizado y la evolución clínica observada. Sin embargo, el caso contribuye a ampliar la discusión sobre terapias tópicas complementarias en quemaduras superficiales de segundo grado.
