CONTRIBUIÇÃO AO ESTUDO DE PONTES E VIADUTOS NO BRASIL E NO MUNDO

O surgimento de pontes e viadutos se deu na antiguidade com a aglomeração das pessoas em sociedade e com a necessidade de transitar entre os lugares. As primeiras pontes e viadutos eram modestas, normalmente construídas em pedra ou madeira, masas evoluçõestécnicas e de materiais permitiram a confecção de estruturas mais exuberantes e com vãos cada vez maiores. Atualmente a escolha do método construtivo para essas Obras de Arte Especiais (OAEs), depende de fatores como planta de situação, seção longitudinal, largura da ponte além das condições para fundações edas condições locais como tecnologias e materiais disponíveis. Esses fatores irão indicar a melhor solução, sendo econômica, segura e durável. Este trabalho pretende realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre pontes e viadutos, pesquisando desde a evolução histórica, principais componentes e materiais para essas estruturas, até as normas técnicas utilizadas para dimensionamento.
