FACTORES DE RIESGO Y LA RELACIÓN DE LAS INTERLEUCINAS 1β, 6 Y 8 EN LA APARICIÓN DE LA CONDICIÓN POST-COVID: UNA REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA CON METAANÁLISIS

Resumen

La condición post-COVID (PCC) se caracteriza por la persistencia de síntomas después de la infección aguda por SARS-CoV-2 y se asocia con mecanismos inflamatorios sostenidos. Esta revisión sistemática con metaanálisis evaluó los niveles de IL-1β, IL-6 e IL-8 en individuos con PCC, comparándolos con controles sanos e individuos recuperados sin síntomas persistentes. El protocolo se registró en PROSPERO (CRD42024610712) y se realizó de acuerdo con las directrices PRISMA 2020. Se incluyeron estudios observacionales que evaluaron las concentraciones séricas o plasmáticas de estas citocinas. La calidad metodológica se analizó utilizando instrumentos validados, y la diferencia de medias estandarizada (DME) con IC del 95% se estimó utilizando modelos de efectos fijos o aleatorios. Se incluyeron veinticinco estudios, con un total de 3927 participantes. Los individuos con PCC presentaron niveles significativamente más altos de IL-1β, IL-6 e IL-8 en comparación con los controles sanos. En comparación con los individuos recuperados, solo la IL-1β permaneció significativamente elevada. Los análisis de subgrupos sugirieron una influencia de la edad y la gravedad de la infección aguda. Los hallazgos respaldan la hipótesis de inflamación persistente en la enfermedad crónica post-COVID (ECP), destacando la IL-1β como un biomarcador potencial asociado con la persistencia sintomática.
