RELAÇÃO DO USO DE CATETER VENOSO CENTRAL E A SEPSE:

O cateter venoso central (CVC) desempenha um papel importante na assistência médica, especialmente para pacientes que requerem cuidados de alta complexidade. Dentre as complicações relacionadas ao uso dos dispositivos venosos, no ambiente de cuidados de saúde hospitalar, há risco aumentado para o desenvolvimento de sepse. O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever a relação do uso de Cateter Venoso Central e o desenvolvimento da sepse e relatar a assistência de enfermagem realizada ao paciente em uso de Cateter Venoso Central na prevenção da Sepse. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio das bibliotecas virtuais Google Scholar; LILACS; BIREME E BVS. A busca da literatura abrange os meses de janeiro a agosto de 2021. A inadequação de cuidados assépticos com o dispositivo, a ausência de Equipamentos de Proteção Individual (EPI) e baixa prática de higienização das mãos, ocasiona danos ao paciente, permitindo a migração de microrganismos para dentro do sistema vascular, contribuindo para as Infecções da Corrente Sanguínea (ICS) associadas ao Cateter Venoso Central. O enfermeiro enquanto membro da equipe multidisciplinar e responsável pelos cuidados do paciente desde a participação da escolha da via de inserção do cateter venoso central, até após a retirada do mesmo, deve estar atento aos sinais e sintomas precoces de sepse. Uma vez que, o diagnóstico precoce dessa afecção é decisivo na sobrevida do paciente.
