ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM ÀS FAMÍLIAS DE CRIANÇAS PORTADORAS DE DIABETES MELLITUS TIPO 1

O presente trabalho tem por finalidade discorrer sobre a assistência de enfermagem às famílias portadoras de diabetes Mellitus tipo1. Esta escolha se justifica porque o Diabetes Mellitus tipo 1 (DM1) é uma condição a qual ocorre destruição das células betas do pâncreas, responsáveis pela produção de insulina. Manifestam-se nos primeiros anos de vida das crianças, jovens, adolescentes e, evolui de forma rápida e progressiva, apresentando sinais como poluiria, diureses excessivas, fome intensa com perda de peso iminente, cetoacidose, coma e conforme supra citado em casos mais gravosos o quadro evolui para a morte. Por isso elegeu como objetivo reafirmar o papel da enfermagem diante os casos de DM1 e quais são suas competências para diminuição dos agravos direcionando as famílias no plano de cuidado. Este estudo trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica de natureza qualitativa e nível descritivo, com levantamentos acadêmicos da área escolhida para estudo. Ao final acredita-se que a diabetes tipo 1 tem modificado a vida de muitas crianças e adolescentes, sendo a enfermagem a porta de entrada para assistência da família e criança assistida.
