Os resíduos de serviços de saúde (RSS) são todos aqueles gerados nos serviços que prestam atendimento à saúde humana ou animal. Os RSS são classificados em: (Grupo A, Grupo B, Grupo C, Grupo D e Grupo E). A RESOLUÇÃO - RDC Nº 222, DE 28 DE MARÇO DE 2018, recomenda que os resíduos pertencentes ao Grupo D sejam reciclados. Os resíduos sólidos são um dos principais problemas ambientais vividos pelo ser humano, quando o tratamos devemos buscar a redução do volume gerado. Os processos de redução, reaproveitamento e reciclagem economizam recursos naturais, reduzindo o incremento da poluição do solo, da água e do ar, economizando energia e água consumidos nos processos desde a extração da matéria-prima até o produto final. Este estudo contribui para trazer a reflexão sobre a importância que o ambiente desempenha na vida dos seres humanos e que estes tenham essa visão para então serem agentes transformadores de suas realidades.
