HIPERGLICEMIA INDUZIDA POR CORTICOSTERÓIDE:
REVISÃO LITERARIA

Nos últimos anos, notou-se um progresso inegável no desenvolvimento de novos medicamentos que melhoram a qualidade de vida dos pacientes e prolongam a expectativa de vida da população mundial que abrangem. Porém, deve-se levar em conta que substâncias exógenas, em níveis suprafisiológicos, mesmo dentro dos níveis normais, podem na maioria das vezes causar efeitos deletérios, como é o caso dos corticosteróides, que é foco deste artigo. Para sua realização serão utilizados dados retirados de artigos e teses da MEDLINE, PubMed, Elsevier, Nature Review e ambos serão analisados para explorar a evolução Diabetes Mellitus II, causada pelo uso crônico de corticoides, com intuito de explorar a evolução referido doença em pacientes que fazem os Glicocorticoides (GC), bem como relatar as principais técnicas utilizadas para desmame dos GC. A metodologia aplicada na elaboração do estudo trata-se de uma revisão de literatura.
