Poultry farming holds a strategic position in the Brazilian agribusiness sector, standing out especially in the markets for poultry meat and eggs, both nationally and internationally. Brazil is among the world’s largest producers and exporters of poultry meat, a result of technological advances, productive efficiency, availability of inputs, and favorable sanitary conditions. At the same time, the egg market has shown continuous growth, driven by increased per capita consumption, the search for high biological value protein sources, and the strengthening of alternative production systems, such as free-range and cage-free poultry farming. This study aims to conduct a literature review on the poultry meat and egg market, addressing its economic importance, consumption trends, productive challenges, and future perspectives. The methodology is based on the analysis of scientific articles, technical reports, and institutional publications related to the poultry production chain, with emphasis on market data, sustainability, and competitiveness. The analyzed studies indicate that the poultry meat market remains competitive in international trade, while the egg sector presents opportunities for expansion, especially in niches focused on animal welfare and sustainable production. However, challenges such as production costs, sanitary requirements, environmental impacts, and adaptation to modern consumer demands remain significant. It is concluded that the poultry meat and egg market has high socioeconomic relevance and strong growth potential, making continuous investment in innovation, sustainability, and public policies that strengthen the poultry production chain essential.
