Pregnancy promotes physiological and structural changes in the female body, especially in the abdominal region, which can result in skin laxity in the postpartum period. This condition is associated with skin stretching, hormonal changes, and reduced collagen and elastin production, compromising skin firmness and elasticity. Although it does not represent a health risk, it can negatively impact self- esteem and body perception. In this context, non-invasive aesthetic procedures have been widely used, notably radiofrequency, which promotes controlled heating of the dermal layers, stimulating neocollagenesis. This study aimed to analyze the effects of radiofrequency in the treatment of abdominal skin laxity in the postpartum period. This is a narrative literature review, conducted in the Google Scholar, PubMed and LILACS databases, including studies published between 2009 and 2023. The results indicate an improvement in skin firmness and elasticity, contributing to a reduction in laxity. In conclusion, radiofrequency is a safe and well accepted therapeutic resource, although more robust clinical studies are needed to standardize protocols.
