AS NOVAS TECNOLOGIAS NO TRATAMENTO DA DIABETES MELLITUS

O Diabetes Mellitus (DM) é umas das doenças mais prevalentes entre as DCNT. Afeta indivíduos de todas as idades, etnias, sexos, nacionalidades e classes sociais, causando complicações agudas e crônicas, inabilidades, elevadas taxas de hospitalizações e mortes e significativos agravos econômicos e sociais. Pacientes com diabetes necessitam modificar hábitos alimentares e aderir a esquemas terapêuticos restritivos, tais como aplicações regulares de insulina e monitorização glicêmica diária. Além disso, estes pacientes devem lidar com o fato de ter que conviver durante toda a vida com uma doença que é responsável por complicações clínicas que prejudicam a saúde do indivíduo. O tratamento da DM vem ganhando aliados importantes e “inovadores”, a revolução tecnológica na área da saúde é uma realidade, e já temos disponíveis algumas novidades e que atualmente são ferramentas fundamentais para o cuidado do diabetes. O objetivo deste projeto de pesquisa é realizar uma revisão sobre as novas tecnologias no tratamento da diabetes mellitus realizando uma análise da literatura científica acerca do tratamento da DM e de seu efeito sobre o controle metabólico.
