O artigo a seguir trata de uma condição da tireoide hoje conhecida como doença de Graves, que representa a causa mais relevante de hipertireoidismo. Entre eles, os anticorpos chamados "imunoglobulinas estimulantes da tireóide" (TSI) atuam como agente nocivo frente ao receptor de TSH na glândula tireóide, incitando a hiperplasia e funcionamento desacerbado. O gatilho para esse processo autoimune ainda não é totalmente compreendido, pois tem aparência multifatorial, devido à complexa interação entre a suscetibilidade genética e fatores exógenos ou endógenos, levando ao cofator que contribuía para a perda da tolerância imunológica e do antígeno tireoidiano é a suscetibilidade a constitutivos (hormônios sexuais e alterações na função imune) e ambientais (estresse, iodo e efeitos de agentes infecciosos). O reconhecimentoextemporâneo reduzindo a extensão de complicações e o tratamento adequado almeja a promoção da qualidade de vida e autonomia. Revisão sistemática objetiva da literatura sobre esta patologia, a fim de comungar em prol ao incremento de pesquisas e compreensão desta patologia. Metodologia: Para o presente artigo realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica, onde foram consultados sites, revistas e principalmente artigos publicados no ano de 2001 a 2023 em revistas científicas o qual possibilitaram para que este trabalho tomasse forma e fundamento. Para que o estudo fosse possível, houve um levantamento bibliográfico utilizando como palavras chaves: mecanismos da doença, sinais e sintomas, diagnóstico e tratamento, tendo como objetivo discorrer mais sobre a doença em questão. Contexto: Sendo uma patologia inexplorada, é importante abordá-la, compreendê-la, o que permitirá um diagnóstico mais rápido e preciso.
