MÉTODO FAMACHA EN EL CONTROL DE LA VERMINOSIS EN OVINOS Y CABRITOS: UNA REVISIÓN CRÍTICA Y PERSPECTIVAS RECIENTES

La ganadería ovina y caprina se ha expandido en Brasil, y junto con este crecimiento, también crece la preocupación por las enfermedades parasitarias, especialmente las causadas por Haemonchus contortus, ya que comprometen el rendimiento y la salud de los animales. Entre las alternativas de manejo, el método FAMACHA© destaca como una herramienta sencilla, económica y eficiente para identificar los grados de anemia y orientar el uso más consciente de antihelmínticos. Además de contribuir a la reducción de la resistencia parasitaria, nuevas investigaciones indican que el método puede combinarse con tecnologías como el análisis de imágenes y el aprendizaje automático, ampliando así su potencial de aplicación. A pesar de los avances, el sistema aún presenta limitaciones y debe utilizarse en conjunto con otras estrategias de manejo.
