COLONIALISMO DE LA ENERGÍA DIGITAL

El presente artículo analiza el fenómeno del colonialismo energético digital como una expresión contemporánea de la colonialidad del poder en el contexto de la transición energética global. Se sostiene que, bajo el discurso de la sostenibilidad, la innovación tecnológica y la descarbonización, se reproducen dinámicas históricas de explotación, expropiación territorial y subordinación económica, ahora mediadas por infraestructuras digitales, plataformas tecnológicas y regímenes de gobernanza algorítmica. La investigación articula los aportes de la teoría decolonial, de la crítica al colonialismo energético y al colonialismo verde, evidenciando cómo el Sur Global continúa destinado al papel de proveedor de recursos naturales estratégicos, territorios de sacrificio y bases materiales para la expansión de tecnologías “verdes” y digitales, mientras que los beneficios económicos, informacionales y decisorios se concentran en el Norte Global y en élites transnacionales. Se argumenta que la digitalización de la transición energética intensifica el neoextractivismo, al incorporar la extracción de datos, el control tecnológico y la financiarización de la naturaleza como nuevos vectores de dominación. Se concluye que el colonialismo energético digital profundiza las desigualdades socioambientales, compromete la autodeterminación de los pueblos y comunidades tradicionales y desafía los paradigmas hegemónicos de la justicia climática, exigiendo la construcción de alternativas energéticas y tecnológicas basadas en la justicia socioambiental, la soberanía de los territorios y la pluralidad epistemológica.
