EL IMPACTO DE LA EDUCACIÓN EN SALUD EN EL CONTROL DE LA SÍFILIS EN LA ADOLESCENCIA

Las infecciones de transmisión sexual continúan siendo un importante problema de salud pública, con especial relevancia en la adolescencia, etapa marcada por vulnerabilidades biológicas, sociales y programáticas. Entre estas infecciones, la sífilis mantiene una elevada magnitud epidemiológica en Brasil y en el mundo, exigiendo respuestas articuladas entre vigilancia, atención a la salud y educación en salud. Se trata de una revisión narrativa con actualización de datos epidemiológicos e incorporación de evidencias recientes sobre prevención, diagnóstico, tratamiento y educación sexual en la adolescencia. El objetivo fue analizar de qué modo las estrategias educativas pueden contribuir al control de la sífilis entre adolescentes. Los hallazgos indican que las intervenciones educativas integrales, científicamente fundamentadas y culturalmente sensibles amplían el conocimiento, corrigen errores conceptuales, favorecen el uso de preservativos, cualifican la búsqueda de pruebas diagnósticas y fortalecen la toma de decisiones en salud sexual. Se concluye que el enfrentamiento de la sífilis en la adolescencia depende de la integración entre educación sexual integral, servicios de salud amigables para adolescentes, pruebas oportunas, tratamiento adecuado y participación intersectorial.
