MORBILIDAD DE LAS INTERNACIONES POR DIABETES MELLITUS EN ADULTOS MAYORES EN EL ESTADO DE MARANHÃO: UN ESTUDIO DE 2019-2025

La diabetes mellitus es una condición crónica que afecta el metabolismo de la glucosa, causando niveles continuamente altos de azúcar en la sangre y conduciendo a complicaciones graves, que afectan la calidad de vida y aumentan la necesidad de hospitalizaciones, especialmente entre la población anciana. Este estudio tiene como objetivo examinar el perfil de morbilidad de pacientes ancianos hospitalizados con diabetes mellitus en el estado de Maranhão. Para ello, se llevó a cabo un estudio observacional, ecológico, analítico con un enfoque cuantitativo. La población de interés incluyó hombres y mujeres de 60 años y más. Los datos utilizados se obtuvieron del Departamento de Informática del Sistema Único de Salud (DATASUS). Como esta investigación involucra datos secundarios, según la Resolución CNS 510/2016, no se requiere evaluación por el Comité de Ética en Investigación.
