This article analyzes the schizoid-functional paradox of Doctor Gregory House, demonstrating how his pathological defenses and emotional detachment transform into an exceptional diagnostic advantage. Drawing on Ronald Fairbairn's object relations theory, Anna Freud's defense mechanisms, and Otto Kernberg's pathological narcissism, the study investigates the genesis of his medical brilliance stemming from primary relational traumas. Additionally, the research integrates biopsychological and Gestalt Therapy lenses to examine the fracture in the character's contact boundary with his environment and the profound structural imbalance of his modes of knowledge, highlighting the loss of his body/mind integrality. It concludes that House's affective detachment and intellectualization configure themselves as an authentic Gestalt "creative adjustment". By positioning himself at what the theory calls the zero-point, his inability to form genuine bonds is instrumentalized and alchemically converted into therapeutic excellence.
