SUPLEMENTACIÓN COMBINADA DE VITAMINA D, MAGNESIO Y OMEGA-3 EN LA PROMOCIÓN DEL ENVEJECIMIENTO SALUDABLE: UNA REVISIÓN INTEGRATIVA

El envejecimiento poblacional constituye uno de los principales desafíos contemporáneos de la salud pública, exigiendo estrategias que promuevan no solo la longevidad, sino también el mantenimiento de la calidad de vida y de la funcionalidad. En este contexto, la suplementación nutricional ha sido ampliamente investigada como una posible herramienta en la modulación de los procesos fisiológicos asociados al envejecimiento. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar críticamente la evidencia científica acerca de la suplementación combinada de vitamina D, magnesio y ácidos grasos omega-3 en la promoción del envejecimiento saludable. Se trata de una revisión integradora de la literatura, con enfoque cualitativo, realizada en las bases de datos PubMed y SciELO. Se identificaron 577 estudios, de los cuales 12 conformaron la muestra final tras la aplicación de los criterios de elegibilidad. Los resultados indican que la vitamina D desempeña un papel fundamental en la regulación inmunológica y la salud ósea; el magnesio actúa como cofactor en procesos bioenergéticos y en la función mitocondrial; y los ácidos grasos omega-3 presentan propiedades antiinflamatorias, cardioprotectoras y neuroprotectoras. El análisis integrado sugiere un efecto sinérgico entre estos nutrientes en la modulación del estrés oxidativo y de la inflamación crónica de bajo grado. Se concluye que la suplementación combinada presenta un potencial prometedor en la promoción del envejecimiento saludable, aunque se requieren estudios clínicos más robustos para la consolidación de la evidencia.
