VICARIOUS VIOLENCE AND PROTECTIVE MEASURES: LIMITS AND EFFECTIVENESS IN THE BRAZILIAN LEGAL SYSTEM

Vicarious violence represents an indirect form of aggression in which the aggressor uses third parties, especially children, to emotionally harm the victim, usually a woman. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of protective measures provided for in the Brazilian legal system in addressing this type of violence. The research was developed through a literature review and analysis of current legislation, including the Federal Constitution, the Maria da Penha Law, and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent. It is found that, although relevant protection mechanisms exist, there are still practical limitations and legislative gaps that hinder the full effectiveness of these measures. The need for improvement of the norms and more integrated action among protection agencies is highlighted.
