PROCESSO PENAL MIDIÁTICO
A INFLUÊNCIA DA MÍDIA NA RESOLUÇÃO DE CONFLITOS PENAIS

A pesquisa trata do poder midiático no processo penal brasileiro. Analisa o papel da mídia e seu poder na influência da resolução de casos criminais. Por meio de estudo de casos noticiados na mídia brasileira, verifica os procedimentos e reflexos na condução desses casos, em contraponto com casos não divulgados na grande mídia. Demonstra que a atuação da imprensa é extremamente necessária para alavancar a democracia e orientar a sociedade, contudo, esse meio de comunicação torna-se um tribunal informal, usando prerrogativas de forma sensacionalista, principalmente nos casos de grande repercussão e clamor social. Conclui haver validação na teoria da mídia constituir o quarto poder, por sua capacidade para influenciar pessoas positiva ou negativamente, sendo possível identificar a diferença na disposição de informações em casos onde a mídia fez grande cobertura, se comparado com os casos que sequer foram citados por ela.
